IOWA — Kanyon Huntington was elected as the Central Region Vice President for Future Farmers of America making him the first Iowan in five years to serve at the national level with FFA.
Huntington is a senior at Iowa State University and originally from Afton, where he has a flock of 50 sheep.
For Huntington, FAA has offered a community.
“In this organization, in FFA I have a place. This is one of the first places where I felt welcome and I know a lot of my teammates feel the same way. It’s a community in the blue jacket that makes you feel valued for who you are and you’re always going to have a supporter. Mine was my advisor, mine was my parents, but you’re always going to find that person that’s going to cheer you on and it’s a place to grow not only grow with others but improve yourself as well,” Huntington said.
