An Instagram influencer and mother-of-two has shared heart-rending images of herself cradling her baby son's body, after sharing with her followers that he had passed away from leukemia.

Kassady Bingham, from Arizona, revealed the devastating news on Monday, writing in an emotional Instagram post that her two-year-old son Milo had 'gone home to Jesus' after an 18-month battle with cancer.

'Milo went home to Jesus this morning,' she wrote while sharing an image of herself holding her son in his hospital bed. 'He didn’t lose his battle, he gained the greatest reward; heavenly healing. I’ve never felt a pain like this. I’m too heartbroken to say anything else. Thank you all for your love and support.'

Her husband Konnor shared his own post about his son's tragic death, writing on his Instagram page: 'Milo Lance Bingham- November 6,2018 - February 23, 2020...

'Milo went to his heavenly home this morning. He went peacefully as his mother held him in her arms. You’ll always be with me my son.'

A few hours later, Kassady shared another post, in which she opened up about the brutal moment she had to give her son's body to a nurse, while posting images of herself cradling Milo after his medical tubes had been removed.

'The last time I held my perfect, sweet boy,' she wrote in the caption. 'His spirit had already passed, but I couldn’t let go.

'His body started to stiffen up as I held him. I could no longer form his fingers around mine. I watched his lips turn blue, his skin turn green and his tongue turn white. I eventually handed him over to a nurse I had just met that day and watched as she walked out the door with my baby in her arms.'

She continued: 'He looked more peaceful than ever, and even looked like he was almost smiling again. I know he’s smiling in heaven. His body may be gone, but he’s still here. Every day is one day closer to you, bubba.

'I can’t wait to continue raising you in heaven in your perfect, healthy body. Mommy loves you.'

Devoted mom Kassady has been regularly sharing updates about her son's condition since he was diagnosed with cancer at just two months old, and she revealed in a heartfelt post on Sunday that he was 'going downhill fast', while asking her followers for their prayers.

'I don’t even know what to say anymore,' she wrote. 'I’m typing this through tear filled eyes. Milo was just intubated and sedated.'

Kassady, who has another son, Milo's older brother Lucca, and her family were met with an outpouring of support and condolence from her followers, including The Bachelor host Chris Harrison.

'Kassady there are no words,' the TV star wrote. 'God bless you all. You and mighty Milo will be in my prayers.'

Fellow Arizona-based influencer Amber Fillerup Clark wrote: 'Big tears. He was so lucky to have such strong, dedicated, and loving parents! I can picture him up there smiling. Thank you for sharing him with all of us he brought smiles to so many.'

Another follower added: 'How blessed he was that you were his mama. I’m praying for you.'

Throughout Milo's battle with cancer, Kassady has been incredibly open about his health, regularly posting images from his hospital room, and opening up to her 166,000 followers about the realities of the disease.

Using the hashtags #mightymilo and #moreloveformilo, she has worked to raise awareness about infantile cancer, revealing in January 2019 that her son had been diagnosed with a disease that she was told only affects 35-50 infants in the US every year.

'Jan 15, 2019 at 2am we were told our sweet 2 month old Milo has leukemia,' she wrote at the time.

'The word is still so hard for me to type and even harder for me to say. It’s very rare, only 35-50 US infants get it per year. We have a very long road ahead of us starting with him getting a port, a spinal tap, a bone marrow biopsy and starting chemotherapy tomorrow.

'My whole world has been turned upside down in a matter of days. Please pray for our strong boy that his fragile body will be able to withstand the chemo and all of the nasty side effects that come with it. The chemo treatment alone is a 2 year process.

'The last 24 hours I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. But it’s a new day. If we can get through last night we can get through the next couple years.'

Since then, Kassady has used her profile on Instagram to call for more research and funding into infantile leukemia.
