Patrick Mahomes’ mom, Randi Martin, revealed she’s become accustomed to the pressure of her son playing in the Super Bowl.

Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years this season and the quarterback will look to clinch his third ring against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Most mothers would be a bundle of nerves watching their son perform on football’s biggest stage, but Randi admitted she’s grown used to the experience while speaking to DailyMail.com on the NFL Honors red carpet.

‘I’m used to it but it’s always a little different,’ she said. ‘But we’re making this a habit with our family.

‘We plan on going to New Orleans next year, let’s just keep it going.’

Despite the significance of the occasion, her son also doesn’t let the pressure get to him with Randi revealing he follows her advice.

‘He’s just just living in the moment,’ she said. ‘I tell him to stop and relax and enjoy it.

‘I told him that the first year and I was like, enjoy, this could be your only time and he said, “no, it’s not.” And I was like, “no, but it really could be.”

‘Well, this is one time I can say my son proved me wrong. You know, this is our fourth time and let’s keep going.’

While it isn’t the Mahomes’ first Super Bowl rodeo, there will be one new addition to their big game experience this year.

Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Mahomes’ friend and teammate Travis Kelce, is expected to jet in from her Eras Tour in Tokyo to support her NFL beau in Las Vegas on Sunday.

The popstar has become fast friends with Mahomes’ wife Brittany and has sat alongside the family in VIP suites at 12 games this season.

And Randi claimed the 14-time Grammy Award winner has slotted right into Chiefs Kingdom.

‘It’s crazy, but at the same time it’s it’s our new life and, you know, we’re just rolling with it and taking it one day at a time,’ Randi said of the attention Swift’s appearances have attracted. ‘She fits right in and she’s cheering just like all of us.’

However, Mahomes has had to keep his focus on the NFL’s showdown amid some negative headlines this week.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s dad, Patrick Mahomes Snr., 53, was arrested by the Tyler Police Department on at least his third DWI on Saturday night in Texas.

Mahomes Sr. was held at the Smith County Jail on a $10,000 bond. The 6’4 former professional baseball pitcher slept in jail overnight and was bonded out on Sunday.

Randi said that they were dealing with the incident by ‘sticking together as a family’.

Earlier in the week, the signal caller also remained tight-lipped when asked about his father during media availability.

‘I can’t go into it too much, but I mean he’s doing good for whatever the situation is,’ the football star said.

‘It’s a family matter, so I’ll just keep it to the family. That’s all I’m going to say at this point.’

Bond documents have confirmed Mahomes Sr will be able to travel to Las Vegas to watch the Chiefs this weekend – but he’ll have to remain sober, and won’t be able to have any liquor while partying in the VIP box.
