In 1998, Mackie made his rap debut on Kool G Rap’s album “Roots of Evil.” Six years later, he released his first single, “Thug Connection,” featuring the b-side “Alphabetical Slaughter.” Despite a lucrative offer from Select Records, Mackie declined an eight-album deal.

Between 2007 and 2012, he put out nine mixtapes, including “Build or Destroy” and “King of New York.”
