RHOSLC: Mary Cosby not returning for Season 3, did not enjoy being on the show

After skipping the Season 2 reunion, Mary Cosby has reportedly quit Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

According to a source, Mary left the show because she didn’t “enjoy her time” on it, though it’s unclear whether Bravo intended to bring her back for a third season.

Meredith Marks stated Mary was “no longer on the show” in a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live. Mary took to Instagram to thank her fans for their love and support, which only fueled the departure rumors.

However, Friday morning, Mary did speak on the rumor with a tweet.

Skipping the reunion is the Bravo kiss of death

Gossip surrounding Mary leaving the show started after she was a no-show at the Season 2 reunion. Historically, if a Housewife purposely does not attend the reunion, they are not invited back for the next season. This was the case with Adrienne Maloof and Lisa Vanderpump from RHOBH.

Once news broke that Mary was absent, the Bravo rumor mill was swirling with speculation of her departure. Viewers quickly assumed she did not want to confront the controversy surrounding her during the season. After multiple racist comments were made against costars, and accusations her church is a cult, fans thought she was nervous about being held accountable for her actions.

Her castmates had no idea Mary planned to sit out the reunion, and she did not tell anyone she wasn’t going to show. The ladies were shocked she didn’t show.

Mary did speak out about her absence, stating “The only thing I have to say about the reunion is I didn’t go because it was one-sided.” She discussed this on a chat hosted by Twitter user @Tea_witdre.

The reunion was filmed four weeks ago, and since then, Bravo has not commented on Mary’s status as a Housewife. Multiple media outlets have reported that she will not be returning to the show, but Mary finally broke her silence on Friday.

As of the publication of this article, Bravo has not confirmed if Mary is still a cast member.

Where does the cast go from here?

If the speculation about Mary quitting is true, the Salt Lake City franchise is down two ladies. Jennie Nguyen was fired in January for a series of racist and anti-vaccine social media posts she made and were discovered.

Season 3 filming is underway, without Mary and Nguyen. The premiere date has yet to be announced, but the explosive personal and legal drama has ensured that it will continue to be a sensation. RHOSLC debuted to critical acclaim, but the show’s never-ending drama is likely to keep viewers glued to their screens.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
